Is Television Sports Addiction consuming us and ruining our relationships?
As I was researching this problem it came to my attention that addiction to television sports is overlooked by everybody. With this being true it could really affect people who are truly addicted to television sports! Just like somebody who is addicted to a drug in order to work on becoming less addicted the problem needs to be brought to the surface so that the person who is addicted can be aware of their problem. With television addiction not being a serious addiction to most people will people who are truly addicted ever get the help that they need? With television sports a person may put their favorite sports team over family, friends, and sometimes even their work. Is that an addiction? I believe so!

Addiction to Television Sports
Sunday, November 10, 2013
It is Sunday and what are majority of Americans doing with their Sundays? That is correct, they are watching the football games that have been on television all day. After watching the games on Sunday a large part of these people will feel sadness when the last game is finished and they must turn off the television for the night and go to sleep then to work in the morning.
What I find truly interesting about television addiction is that a large amount of people would not consider a person who is watching television three plus hours a night and even more hours on the weekends, has a sports radio station playing while they are on their daily commutes, and will post about the sports they are interested on social networking sites throughout the course of the game an addiction.
If a person were to spend this amount of time playing video games or talking about a video game or working out, a person would not take anytime to say that this person is addicted to that task. But since America is all so surrounded on their sports teams we are completely blind to the fact that a lot of Americans are addicted to television sports.
My question that concerns me the most is that with networks dedicating themselves specifically to a particular sports such as MLBNetwork, will people become even more obsessed with their favorite sport? Since these networks literally have 24/7 coverage about that sport will people become more glue to the tube?
